I have not heard from SanFranMan since Monday? nite, even after emailing a couple a questions that I promptly forgot that I needed an answer to, because it didn't occur to me that I'd been ignored for a couple of days. He and I run hot and cold, so it wasn't unusual to suddenly stop hearing from him. However, since my portion of the journey begins today, and we won't have telephone or email contact until we meet at the hotel on Sunday, I began to have thoughts of different scenarios.
1. I make a 3 hour drive to Salt Lake to catch a train in the middle of the nite, to the train station in the middle of a downtown major city, (skuzzy and shady), park my car in an unsupervised parking lot where it will possibly get mugged, ride for 9 hours, get to Reno about 6 hours before I'm allowed to check in, have to take a cab (which I've never done before on my own), and get to our room only to find a masseuse and 3 gigolos to take care of me. In a note sent with a dozen yellow roses, which is sitting next to the basket of fruit, he has sent his regrets as he has met a masseuse of his own, and the wedding is on Tuesday, so naturally he couldn't meet up with me.
Or,
2. I make the same long journey mentioned above, but this time the cabby doesn't speak English, meet SFM in our room and he kills me in a crime against passion, for reasons not to be known until after the CSI (his favorite show) people come with their cameras, film the scene, edit the film, solve the case and it airs on TV next season.
Or,
3. The truth. We meet as planned, have fun, and that is all I can say about that.
.
Heh ... you worry to much.

Hey, if you're really serious about getting the money to get to SF, how about selling web cards of your dogs? You love taking photos of your dogs, they've got the personality and if it's all web/email based, the costs will be cheaper.
