I called the Californai Department of Motor Vehicles this morning.
Ring, ring, ring.

DMV: DMV, can I help you?
Me: Hello, I just wanted to make sure that when I FLY down there to get my California ID, that I have all the correct documents.
Silence:
Me: Hello?
CA DMV Lady: Yes, go on.
Me: Because last time I FLEW down there with ...
A voice talking but it sounded far away...
Me: I'm sorry, what did you say?
CA DMV Lady: I didn't say anything, ma'am.
Me: Oh, I heard someone talking.
Silence:
Me: I flew down there a couple of months ago to get a CA ID, but couldn't because it wasn't a state certified copy from the state of my birth.
Silence:
Me: So I just wanted to make sure when.... hello?
CA DMV Lady: yes, go on, you wanted to make sure what (in a very tight, clipped voice you dumb moron voice)
Me: That the certified copy is really ALL I need to get my ID, so I don't waste another plane ticket.
CA DMV Lady: Yes, that's what you need, plus a current ID from the state where you are at now.
Me: Okay thanks. Just to let you know, the website doesn't say "Certified Copy"...
CA DMV Bitch: Yes, it does. You wouldn't expect us to accept a photo copy or a copy machine copy of your birth certificate, would you?
Me: Umm no. I didn't have a copy. I had my original birth certificate with the foot prints on it. The website - all it says is "birth certificate".
Silence:
Me: Also, just now listening to all the options when calling, it says the price of an ID is $26.00. On the website it says it's $21.00.
Me: Hello?
Me: Hello?
.
.
I wonder at what point she hung up at me?
