Tonite, on the news, ABC said that the war has cost us 400 billion dollars so far. 400 BILLION. Unfathomable.
I wonder if that money could have been better spent on the hungry kids in our nation. Or maybe it could have fixed the foster care system. Or for low income housing. Or maybe even the health care problem. Hell, I'll bet 400 BILLION dollars could have solved several of our major crisis's in the U.S. How about the whole Katrina debacle? The prison system?
It just makes me sick. George has lost us the rest of the world's respect. Almost 4000 U.S. dead soldiers. Not to mention the 3000 dead Iraqi's each month. Why did we drink his kool-aid? His election was controversial - that should have tipped us off. So many shady things happened that election day in November. Remember the hanging chads? In my opinion - it wasn't right and I wonder where we'd be now if Al Gore have been president.
There were no weapons of mass destruction. We got Saddam, and he was tried and convicted, and put to death.
So... why are we still at war?
I remember as a child, having the greatest respect for "The President of the United States". In my earlier adult years, I saw The President of the United States as human, but still deserving of respect. Now? He's an asshat.
